This was such a fun editorial shoot! Two very different styles…. delightful and artistic. Have been wanting to do this series for a while and the timing worked out perfectly with my creative team; Photography by Mike Helms of Totally Captivating, make-up/hair/head pieces by Christina Carlsson of Marquee Salon (just up the street from us) and models Brittney Hancock and Patricia Helms.
April showers was a delightful shoot with sweet dresses, umbrellas, flowers (thankful for our farmers market 2 blocks from our store) rubber boots and watering cans. May flowers brought a new kind of flowers… the ones that glow! So much fun doing a blacklight shoot. Everything is different when you have to discover what does and doesn’t glow and how to use positive and negative space.
Celebrating this editorial shoot during First Friday Art Walk May 5th, 6-9pm. Clothes and photos will be on display. To effectively showcase the blacklight photos, I thought it appropriate to turn one of my changing rooms into a blacklight room. Clothes and accessories will be in there to glow along with you and your outfit!
Growing up we would plan our outfit to ‘glow’ along the blacklight wall on the rollerskating rink. This is your chance bring back your childhood memories and do this once again! As much as you might think the roller-skates are really cool… maybe change those for roller-blades to get you to-and-from during First Friday.
So excited to add to our night! We have teamed up will local barber/stylist Garret Olmstead from Locksmyth Salon. Garret and I met late 2016 and have since created a product promotional shoot showcasing his locally made 100% natural ‘Bru Pomade Dapper Man’ for the modern gentleman.
His product and my knickerbockers (12 new pair in the shop)…. a perfect match! Garret and his new product will be in the shop during First Friday 6-9pm. Come for some product samples and see his creation on a real head of beautiful hair.
Look forward to seeing you soon.
