Our Mad About Plaid event is coming up and we hope to see you there. It’s a magical time of the year for us where we mark the unofficial official start of fall and transform the entire shop into a fall addicts paradise. From front to back, top to bottom plaid, wool, tweed, cashmere, knits, leather, fur, faux fur, and much more are pulled out and displayed.
The night before we change over the entire store adding 1,000+ fall pieces with pieces we have been squirreling away just for that special Sunday in August (this year it falls on August 19th).
The shop is filled with new to us pieces that no one has seen yet and they are all on display for sale. The extra special part of it? We close the entire shop that day to the public, and allow five people in for one hour each group of five, to shop. On Sunday the 19th starting at 11am we only allow five people in per hour to get first pick of our vintage 2018 fall collection. To get in the shop that day, you MUST have a ticket.
These people get to take those secret peeks at the things which have been hiding throughout the shop up to this point in preparation. Each hour a new group of five individuals gets the opportunity to play in the shop and purchase from the wonderful items before the shop is open to the public. And of course, what would a special private shopping event be without mimosas?
This year we have decided to up the fun with glasses that have been renamed with famous old Hollywood actors, actresses and musicians. What fun is it to sip on a mimosa and ask “Oh did you see that dress on Mae West?” Or “That hat looked so good on you, Clark Gable,”? We also have a new bonus for this years event where when you purchase a ticket, you receive ten dollars off your purchase that day. How much are tickets? Just $10! You can grab yours in the shop all the way up until August 18th, or call/ text the store to reserve a ticket and time. Just make sure to pop in and pick up your ticket before the event.
Seven years ago I was asked to be a part of a vintage themed photo shoot where I provided the floral hair pieces along with vintage clothing and accessories from our shop. I had so much fun playing dress up with models and caught the photoshoot bug. My first official shoot for the shop was a couple months after that shoot. Appropriate that it was Mad About Plaid. What an incredible day surrounded by beautiful and wonderful people to help me with my first editorial project.
Each year we have done a fall themed shoot and I am so excited for you to see what we did for 2018. All the clothing that you see will be available for purchase day of the event. No holds until then.
