So Thankful

thanksgiving '17 header copyThis last week was our SEVEN year anniversary. How time flies! What a joy it has been starting as a small little shop of ‘most everything’ and growing into a vintage lifestyle boutique. Our style for the shop has become more defined. Our direction has become more classic and our inventory…..incredible!

This last week I had a brief moment between rain showers to capture a beautiful 50’s fall dress and cape on the lovely Joelle. I picked up this dress a few weeks ago. Some dresses just have to be photographed before they can be adopted from the shop. This was one of those dresses and…the…cape! Capes are a huge fashion trend right now. Hard to find but when I do, I do a little happy dance. This is a full-length cape and I just pinned on a fur collar to give it a little drama and tie in the brown sash on the dress.

Almost every leaf had ‘fall’en to the ground except for one little tree two blocks from our shop. It became the perfect backdrop for our shoot.

Making the best use of no rain we decided to do one more outfit. Went from autumn whimsical to classic 60’s. Sometimes it takes a while, up to a year to assemble the right matching patterns for a shoot. Luckily enough, two of the three (coat and shoes) came from the same estate. Dress is from the 50’s. Coat, hat and purse are from the 60’s and shoes are a newer, vintage inspired pair.

To you, on this Thanksgiving Day, thank you. Thank you for supporting our small business and encouraging us along the way. It is an honor being your vintage shop.
Cheers to seven more years!
