After a soggy October the holiday season is definitely upon us and we are oh, so happy. This is my favorite time of year. Love the colors outside, the food, the smells, the fashion which includes lots of layers and textures and the joy of family and friends.
To begin the celebration we have two great events this week!
So excited for this special private event: Cocktails and Bubbles – bringing out our cocktail and little black dresses Thursday Nov 3rd, 6:30-10pm. Perfect for all the wonderful holidays ahead of us. To make this event more special…… bubbles to drink! Let us know if you would like to come and we will add your name to the list. If you are unable to make it to this event, send us your mailing address and we will be sure to add you to future events.

and second…. FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK, NOV. 4TH, 6-9PM
We thought it would be fun to team up with one of our local schools and showcase ‘edible’ art during First Friday Art Walk. To add to the festivities, Barbara Creager of Babette’s Hatworks http://babetteshatworks.com will be doing a pop-up-shop in our store showcasing her fall wool hats for ladies and gents along with beautiful scarves, feather headbands and festive fascinators. The Great Bake-Off…
The great Bake-off will be taking place during First Friday in our shop as well! Flavor combinations were voted on (imagine, pumpkin, coffee, french vanilla plus 50+ more options) by customers during September Art Walk to be produced by the Fort Vancouver High School for International Studies culinary program. For the last two months students have been creating their own recipes, competing within the classroom and determining the winning combos. The baking instructor for the students is Rebecca Angell, the students that will be producing these cupcakes are Jarred Fisher (who is 17) William Eriza (who is 17) Sofiia Saakian (who is 16) and Joseph Judge (who is 16). These students and the program are including themselves in this event to produce bonds between the community and this special program. Bight futures are ahead for these students! Come taste and celebrate the next generation of bakers. Students in the classroom. Jarred, William (in pink chef coat) and Sofia.
If this isn’t enough for you…. I have been working on making scarves (78 to be exact) from vintage wools, many of which are Pendleton. Standard scarves, triangle scarves and ladies scarves that button and have a hidden pocket for your phone or wallet. Also, new holiday candles from our local candle maker, Vance Family Soy Candles. Perfect for hostess and teacher gifts, stocking stuffers or for just about anyone on your gift list! Made from soy, organic essential oils and cotton wicks.
Come on down and make ‘First Friday’ a night to remember. Around 20 locations (galleries, shops, offices) open for the night. To see the full map click on the Vancouver Downtown Association ‘hot sheet’ link.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
