The time has finally come to celebrate and showcase our Edwardian themed shoot from this last June. It takes a team to create these beautiful images… an incredible team! Special thanks to photographer Mike of http://totallycaptivating.com , models: Cole Lee Christensen and Haleigh Haase, Hair and floral crowns by Kristen Johnsonof Kristen Johnson Makeup Artistry and make-up by Madeline Qi and assistants: Patricia Helms and Elizabeth Gabriel. To help create the full, true-to-period (1901-1910) look, special thanks to Molly Lance of Mackensie’s Treasures who provided all of the jewelry. This fantastic business is located right around the corner from our shop and absolutely breathtaking.
The whole idea behind this shoot was the dresses. Not very often do I get 4 dresses and multiple tops/slips from this time period and all in such great condition. Quickly put together a team to show these beauties off before they went up for sale on-line. Cole and Haleigh are two of my wonderful customers and I knew they would be perfect for the time period. Like I say every time… ‘it takes a team.’ Both Kristen and Madeline (graduates of Art of Makeup School in Vancouver WA) went above and beyond on hair and make-up and then there is Mike – one of the best classic photographers I have ever worked with.
These clothes are over 100 years old and very delicate. This is where my dressing and personal assistant Elizabeth Gabriel really helped along with Patricia Helms who also assisted photographer Mike.
Many of the pieces have already been sold through Etsy and Ebay. There are a few pieces still available that will be on display during Art Walk First Friday (tomorrow, Friday August 7, 6-9pm) along with ALL the photos from the shoot. I always love to hear which of our concept shoots are your favorites both here and in the shop. Love what you see? Like what we are doing by bringing vintage and antique clothes to life in an artistic way? Share the ‘Love’ and support the ‘likes.’
Enjoy!
