How can I not do a Kentucky Derby themed photo shoot when I have access to beautiful people, stunning horses, fabulous locally made Derby hats and one of the best classic photographers around? Oh, and the vintage clothes too! After our 40’s themed shoot this last September we figured we would extend our day and add some Derby shoots at a local horse farm. It was a beautiful, very sunny and extremely long day. Our crew was amazing! So thankful for their willingness to play dress-up and smile for the camera. The horses even did a great job. Pretty mellow due to the heat. We started in East Ridgefield around 6am (40 degrees) for our ‘Fall into 40’s’ shoot and then drove to West Ridgefield with a finish time of 4pm (95 degrees).

Thought it would be fun to celebrate early! I have pulled out all the dresses from this shoot and Barbara is bringing down all the Derby hats for Art Walk First Friday March 6th. We have been holding on to all these wonderful treasures just for this special evening. All will be available for purchase and just in time with the actual Kentucky Derby coming up May 2nd. First Friday festivities will start around 6pm and we will be open until at least 9pm. It will be a fun night downtown with many of the little shops staying open late along with all the galleries.
