Couve Couture Fashion Show, 10-20-12

Hard to believe that our Fall Fashion Show, Couve Couture is less than a week away! We are so excited for this event and I believe that our community is as well. As of today, there are only 4 tickets left leaving only 20 tickets at the door of the event.

This event showcases the greatness of Vancouver. The designers, sponsors, hair stylists, make-up artists, models, photographers and chef are from here in Vancouver. It has been a great honor working with Vancouver’s own Seth Aaron, winner of Project Runway season 7, for this show. He was recently invited to the Pendleton Wool Mill and came home with an amazing selection of wools to use in his fall show that will walk down the Couve Couture runway. Sweet Spot Skirts will be showcasing their new fall line of athletic wear, Most Everything Vintage (my shop) will be showcasing vintage, head to toe, with a little animalistic whimsy (basically, I have use my vintage jackets for inspiration to create an animal persona for each model. I have created 14 animal masks for 14 different models. With the help of great make-up artists and hair stylists, these animals will come to life. To view some of these, you can see a few of the masks on our Most Everything facebook page). Our fourth SW Washington designer was chosen through a contest put out on our Couve Couture facebook page: the winner will be announced this week and the winning designer will get to walk four of their outfits down the runway at the show.

Fashionable Fall Food

Not only will there be visual entertainment with music and video in the backdrop, but also flavor entertainment! We asked Chef Tony of the Atrium Lounge to create a sampling of fall inspired foods for this special event. Boy did he deliver! The food set before us to sample was unbelievable! Truly, ‘fall on a plate’. Envision tapenade stuffed pork roast wrapped in bacon, candied sweet potato fries with a granny smith apple dipping sauce, brown sugar encrusted butternut squash suffle with a butter cream sauce, deep dish apple pie, homemade bread stick with a variety of dipping sauces and of course, their amazing pizza pies. This will be a night to remember.
